Fine art animal portraits and illustrations.

Commissions.

I take on a limited number of commissions each year for portraits of most types of animal, though I specialise in horses, livestock and dogs.

I work in a variety of mediums including oil, acrylic, pastel and watercolour, each with its own characteristics and advantages which lend themselves to different pieces.

The first step in commissioning a portrait is arranging a time to discuss your requirements and the options available. This is best done via a chat on the phone or an online meeting.

My availability and lead times vary, but typically run at around six months from enquiry to finished piece, though they can be longer. For up to date lead time information, please get in touch.

I’m an artist and illustrator from Co. Durham in North-East England. I’ve always been mad about animals, finding any and every opportunity to be surrounded by as many as possible.

Similarly, I’ve always been creative. I still have drawings of horses from when I was 12, practicing religiously from ‘how to draw’ books and copying pictures in magazines - well before the days of YouTube tutorials.

I thrive on being creative and studied for a Bachelors and then a Masters Degree in Creative Writing. Art took a back seat for a while until early 2020 when, like many others, the Covid-19 lockdowns meant I had the time and space to pursue painting again (in amongst lambing sheep!) and I quickly began taking commissions and growing a client base.

I live on a small farm with my husband, lots of sheep, a couple of horses and our four dogs. Follow me on Instagram or X (Twitter) if you want to enjoy updates from my easel and from the farm.
